FedEx Cup DraftKings Lineup

Tomorrow the FedEx Cup kicks off with the Barcalys and while some people may tune out because Tiger Woods didn't make it or Rory McIlroy decided to skip it, others will be watching for the fact they put money on it. One of the easiest ways to do so is through DraftKings, which is offering for the low price of $3 the chance to win 100k. Thats a lot of cash and I'm going to give my prediction on who to pick and get it.

DraftKings gives you $50k to work with and pick six golfers. It's all a matter of picking some gambles and sure things in this case. You already know you have the top 125 golfers for this tournament now you just have to narrow it down to the six golfers that will bring you ti victory, so let's begin:

Top Tier:

Jordan Spieth-$12,600: a top five guarantee almost every time he steps on the course, he is going to put you in a big hole with five picks left, but if he wins it all its money well spent.

Jason Day- $11,500: The recent PGA Champion has done well at every major tournament this year, even the Open Championship when he was hit with a case of vertigo. Expect him to be in the top 10.

Dustin Johnson- $10,700: Constantly in the top of the field for majors going into weekends, but falls behind or just short on Saturday and Sunday. It could finally be his time to shine and he gives you about 2,000 extra to use than Spieth would.

My Pick: I'm taking Johnson that extra cash gives the leeway to get some more top guys and I know I have someone that could win it all.

$49,300 Left.

Second Tier:

Brooks Koepka- $9,700: Koepka has been playing well all year and after making a run at last weekends Wyndham Championship look for him to have a good showing.

Matt Kuchar- $9,300: Mr. Consistency making 20/21 cuts this year. You are guaranteed to get a top 20 finish with Kuchar on your roster.

Hideki Matsuyama- $8,500: Though he struggled at the Wyndham Championship Matsuyama has show in majors that he can step up his game plus making 19/21 cuts can guarantee he will playing over the weekend.

Patrick Reed- $8,100: Going into the Barclay's with four top 10's on the season and 1 win. Considered a dark horse to win this weekend. He's a gamble, but he's a gamble that is only average cost.

My Picks: I am taking Kuchar and Reed here, which does give about $22,000 to play with or $7,300 per player. The reason being I know what to expect with Kuchar and Reed gives me a guy that can potentially win it all that others playing may not gamble on.

$21,900 Left

Mid-Level Tier:

This is where you will truly win or lose. The guys you pick here need to make the weekend and play well. If they don't on Sunday you will have nothing to care about.

Justin Thomas-$7,700: With seven to 10's you know he gives you a chance for a high finish. He also loves birdies carding 15 in his last event. He isn't a glamour pick but he's a solid one.

Jimmy Walker-$7,600: Walker has had a sneaky good year carding two wins and six top 10 finishes. He is a high fantasy point guy averaging in the 70's. He is a good place to start rounding out your team.

Keegan Bradly-$7,500: Bradley has had the top of season you would expect. He was a hot name for a while but has struggled this entire season. He has made 18/21 cuts but 2 of those cuts came at majors. He is a gamble but is also do for a nice weekend.

J.B. Holmes-$7,300-Holmes had a shaky July but seems to be getting himself back on track over the past few weeks. He finished in the top 25 at the PGA Championship and that was with a poor Sunday showing of 74. He is a birdie seeker though and that can pay off big when picking guys for low price.

My Picks: Jimmy Walker and J.B. Holmes. These two have had pretty good years and could have top 10 finishes each. If that happens you could be jumping for Joy when all is said and done.

$7,000 Left

Alright, you have $7,000 left it's time to make the last pick for your team. This is where you can either get creative or just take the best player at that price point.

Lee Westwood-$7,000: Here is the I have this much left and this guy equals that pick. Westwood has made 11/13 cuts this year but he is not the big time player he was. Could surprise me, but not holding my breath.

Hunter Mahan-$6,700: Mahan won the event last year, and maybe luck will repeat itself this year. He has been consistent in reaching the weekend so if anything you can at least count on that.

Big Gamble Pat Perez-$6,500:Who? That's probably what you are thinking and you would be right. Perez is number 52 in the FedEx Cup rankings and has had one of his best years yet with two top 10's. He won't win it all or probably even finish in the top 10, but you can expect a possible top 25.

My Pick: Hunter Mahan- Even though he hasn't been great, I think he can at least make the weekend and at that point everything's a plus.

My Lineup:
Dustin Johnson: $10,700
Matt Kuchar: $9,300
Patrick Reed: $8,100
Jimmy Walker: $7,600
J.B. Holmes: $7,300
Hunter Mahan: $6,700

Total: $49,700 or $300 Left

Good Luck with your picks and leave a comment letting me know how you did.

*If anything let's hope for a few more of these this weekend.
